As we grow, our feet become a haven of dead skin and are sometimes accompanied by dry cracked heels. At this point, it is most probable that the skin around our feet has become dry and thick (dehydration).
In this article, we are going to discuss some of the natural recipes that can help you soften your feet at home without resorting to cosmetic products.
1. Use baking soda.
One of the natural ways to soften your feet is by using baking soda. Baking soda plays an essential role in exfoliating the skin, reducing itching, and cleansing the feet. What you will need is 3 or 4 teaspoons of baking soda and a basin full of water. Mix the baking soda in the water and either apply it to your feet using a pumice stone or soak your feet in it for at least 15 minutes. After that, wash your feet and coat them with moisturizer.
2. Use olive oil.
Just as baking soda we discussed in the preceding paragraph, olive is one of the best natural moisturizers out there. To attempt this, rub olive oil on your feet with your palm and finger for at least 15 minutes after your bath. If you wish you can wear a pair of socks overnight as the olive oil stays on your feet.
3. Use peppermint oil, oat flakes, and cornmeal scrub.
Peppermint oil is an essential oil that can nourish the skin around the feet and increase blood circulation. To prepare this scrub, all you will need is a teaspoon of peppermint oil, a cup of cornmeal, and one cup of oat flakes. Mix all these and massage them on wet feet. You need to do this for at least 5 minutes before you wash with lukewarm water.
4. Use milk and baking soda.
Speaking of this recipe, all you will need is 4 cups of milk and some baking soda. This time you are not going to mix the ingredients like in the above recipes. You are going to heat the milk (not to become too hot). Then pour it into a basin and soak your feet for at least 7 minutes. Then you massage your feet with some baking soda for a few minutes. Before you rinse with water, put your feet back into the milk again for at least 5 minutes.
