Parliament had declared that the annual festival commonly known as “Nyege Nyege,” scheduled to take place in Jinja from September 15 to 18th will not happen.

The Speaker of parliament Anita Among made the revelation during plenary on Tuesday noting that the parliament “will not permit the event to take place.”

The God-fearing speaker stood firm and declared; “We are discussing the morality of this nation; we are discussing our kids. You want to advance tourism at the expense of our kids, right? We won’t permit this activity to take place.''

The Speakers 'ruling' left many legislators chanting her praises saying the Country that is famously known for respecting Christianity can't be used to host Nyege Nyege which promotes homosexuality and other 'devilish' activities not leaving out high-level immorality.

Among the legislators who were happy with Speaker's decision includes Tororo Woman MP Hon Sarah Opendi who shocked fellow legislators that the event has always been a breeding ground for sexual immorality in the country and that's why it was hidden in Jinja, not in Kampala City.

Opendi's statement could be backed by Former Minister of Ethics (RIP) Father Simon Lokodo who in 2018 requested that the event be canceled saying that he had got enough proof that it was promoting homosexuality and moral decay but he was overpowered reportedly by homosexual sponsors conniving with ruthless Ugandan mafias in government.
