The Ministry of Local Government has issued a statement cautioning the leaders and the general public that fraudsters are now sparing no one after thus need for topmost vigilance.

According to the Ministry, reports indicate that the Fraudster contacts unsuspecting victims requesting for personal details, promising them invitation to conferences and recommendation for job offers.
The Ministry further reveals that the fraudster uses a couple of telephone numbers among them including; 0414672749, 0750803575, 0780863454, 0760181830.
“The Ministry therefore, cautions all persons, particularly recently elected Local Government Leaders, other Civil Servants and the public at large, to urgently report such cases whenever detected, and to avoid falling prey to such fraudsters,” adds the Ministry.
The statement has also asked the Public to report such cases to the Police, who have already been notified of this scheme or to the Ministry of Local Government.
“The Ministry of Local Government further informs the Public that in exercise of its mandate, all Ministry's Programmes and activities are communicated officialy through the formal Government Structures at National, District, City, Municipality, Sub-County and Parish levels,” further reads Ministry’s statement.
