Sad: When Miss Uganda Finalist Died In London!

A former Miss Uganda UK contestant was found dead at her home in South-East London following complications with her diabetes, an inquest has heard. Sandra Masozera, 25, was sadly found dead on October 12, 2020, at an address on Titmuss Avenue in Thamesmead.

A post-mortem examination was conducted which identified her cause of death as diabetic ketoacidosis. According to the NHS, this is a serious problem that results when harmful substances called ketones build up in the body if a person suffering with diabetes runs out of insulin.

Opening an inquest into her death, Coroner Xavier Mooyaart said: “There is evidence that she lived alone at home and was being treated with respect to her mental health. Concerns have been raised following her death as to whether her diabetes was adequately diagnosed and the risks of her diabetes properly considered as to the effects of her other medication.”

He continued: “In light of these concerns, I have reason to believe that this young lady’s death may have been unnatural.”

Sandra had competed in the 2016 Miss Uganda UK beauty pageant and had represented Masaka City, where she was contestant number four. A statement from the Miss Uganda UK Twitter page shared a black and white picture of her following her death, with the words ‘Rest in Eternal peace’.

A statement from the organisers also read: “It's with great sadness and sorrow with the news we received regarding our 2016 finalist Sandra Masozera. Sadly, at just 25 years old with her whole life ahead of her suddenly passed away on Monday, October 12, 2020.

Words cannot explain the feeling within our camp in this moment but pray for her family and her loved ones for the good Lord to strengthen them through this trying times. We thank God for Sandra’s life. Sandra the jolly lively always smiling girl MAY YOUR SOUL REST IN ETERNAL PEACE.”
